Common questions
What to expect from Stratum
Understand the offers, the documents you provide and the decisions your team controls.
Is Stratum software or a consulting service?
Stratum is self-serve software for professional-services teams. Its four offers support strategy, proposal review, preparation of related proposal materials and recurring pursuit work. You are not purchasing an analyst-delivered review or a consulting engagement.
How do I begin?
When free proposal checks open, upload a proposal and its bid requirements. You'll see your top findings first, then unlock the full review with a Proposal Review pack. The full review counts as 1 of your 10.
How long does it take to set up Stratum?
There's no setup project. Stratum doesn't need a content library, templates or past answers. When free checks open, you upload a proposal and its bid requirements, and the check starts from those documents.
What happens to my documents in a free check?
They're used only to run your check. If you don't start a plan, your documents and results are deleted automatically within 7 days of your check. Don't upload material you aren't authorized to share.
What do I need to provide?
For Proposal Review, provide your draft, the client requirements you want checked and supporting material you are authorized to use. Requirements may come from an RFP, a client brief or written clarifications.
For the other offers, provide the client context and relevant sources, including applicable standards, templates, scope boundaries, prior decisions and commercial inputs. The Pricing page lists the inputs for each offer.
Stratum cannot check your proposal against requirements you have not supplied. Missing information still needs confirmation; it is not a confirmed fact.
What will I receive?
Your outputs depend on the offer you choose.
Pursuit Strategy: A strategy brief in PDF and editable Word, plus a structured evidence record.
Proposal Review: A review PDF and correction-map spreadsheet showing the findings, proposed wording and affected document locations. Proposal Review is USD 1,000 for 10 completed reviews, valid for 90 days, with no automatic renewal.
Proposal Package: A written proposal in DOCX, a presentation in PPTX and PDF, presenter material, a commercial assumptions workbook in XLSX, a scope outline, and evidence and handoff records.
Pursuit Workspace: The Strategy, Review and Package output formats, with a continuing record of the pursuit.
The Pricing page lists what is included in each offer. The sample files illustrate formats; they are not all included in every purchase.
Does Stratum produce a complete statement of work (SOW)?
No. Proposal Package and Pursuit Workspace include a scope outline covering proposed scope, dependencies and open decisions. It is a starting point for your firm's statement-of-work process, not a completed SOW or negotiated contract.
Your firm completes and reviews the final SOW and obtains its required approvals. Proposal Review does not include creating a scope outline or reviewing a supplied SOW.
Who decides which recommendations to use?
Your team does. You review Stratum's findings and supporting evidence, then decide which recommendations to accept, edit, decline or leave open.
For Proposal Review, suggested corrections do not change your original files or apply native redlines. Accepting suggested wording does not approve the whole proposal or resolve missing information. Your firm decides what to approve and share with its client.
Stratum does not make commitments, sign for your firm or contact your client.
What can I reuse across pursuits?
With Pursuit Workspace, you can reuse templates and organizational standards you are permitted to provide. Keep each client's requirements, evidence and decisions separate from reusable firm-wide material, and supply updated sources when the work changes.
Before reusing restricted material, confirm your permission to use it and the applicable storage, access and reuse rules.
What can I learn from the sample review?
See how a client requirement compares with a proposal draft, examine a finding and suggested correction, and explore related sample files.
The public example uses prepared sample content rather than a live review of your documents. You do not upload files or create an account to explore it.
